About QR Grove

QR Grove exists to make honest QR codes that respect your time and your wallet — static codes that never expire and dynamic codes that stay editable and trackable without a subscription.

Our mission

QR codes are everywhere now: on menus, packaging, posters, business cards, and event badges. Yet making one has somehow become a trap. Search for a "free QR generator" and you will mostly find tools that look free, let you create a code, and then reveal that editing or even keeping the code working requires a monthly plan. People print thousands of codes during a trial, only to watch them turn into dead links a few weeks later. We think that is the wrong way to treat a technology that is supposed to be open and universal.

So we built QR Grove around a simple promise: the essentials are free, and they stay free. Our static generator runs entirely in your browser, encodes your link directly into the image, and produces codes that will keep scanning for as long as QR codes exist — there is no server that can ever switch them off. Our dynamic codes give you an editable, trackable short link with a scan counter, and they are free forever too.

Free forever, not free trial

The difference between QR Grove and most competitors is what happens after you make a code. Many services treat dynamic QR codes as a recurring revenue stream: your codes expire, your edits are capped, and your scan analytics are held hostage until you pay. We do the opposite. Creating a dynamic code, changing its destination, and checking its scan count are all free, with no account required and no expiry date attached. You keep a secret edit token so only you can repoint your code.

How we keep it free

Running a website and a redirect service costs money, so QR Grove is supported by advertising. We show a small number of clearly labeled ads and keep them out of the way of the tools themselves. That ad revenue covers our hosting and lets us offer the generator and the dynamic-code service at no charge to you. We would rather show a banner than expire your QR codes.

Privacy by default

Static codes are generated locally in your browser — the text you enter never leaves your device. For dynamic codes we store only what the feature needs to work: the destination URL, the creation time, and a scan count. There is no mandatory sign-up and no personal profile. You can read the full details on our privacy page.

Who we are

QR Grove is built and maintained by a small, independent team that thinks basic web utilities should stay free and open rather than become another subscription. We build the tools we wanted to exist: fast, private, and free of dark patterns. Have feedback, a feature request, or a bug to report? We would love to hear from you on our contact page.
